Our Mission

The Desert Communities Chapter of the worldwide Association of Fundraising Professionals
advances philanthropy by enabling people and organizations to practice effective and ethical fundraising.The core activities through which the chapter fulfills this mission include education
and training, promoting credentialing, providing resources for fundraising effectiveness,
networking, mentoring, advocacy 
and recognition of philanthropy.

Do you have a successful background in grant writing and want to feel good every day about what you do? This position will start as a part time 20-30 hour a week grant writer position to identify, develop and cultivate funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as coordinate and implement the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to third-party entities. The position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded by third-party public and private sources. Nov 20 - The Fundraising Effectiveness Project Releases Third Quarter Benchmark Report for Nonprofit Fundraisers
(Nov. 20, 2017) The Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP) released its third quarter findings and announced that both donor giving and donor retention is on a continued downward trend. FEP’s third quarter report indicates year-to-date giving through September 2017 is down by -4% compared to the same time period in 2016 and that donor retention is currently at its lowest point in five years, with an overall year-to-date retention of 45%. ... more >
