The awards luncheon held in the full-to-capacity Grand Ballroom of the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage featured marvelous videos by Circle Take Media, décor by MOMENTOUS Events, and floral displays by Lotus Garden Center.
Sandra Cooper Woodson, OUTSTANDING FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER, was introduced by Gary Hall of Wells Fargo. Event emcee Patrick Evans and AFP Chapter President Terri Bona also look on as Sandy talks about her passion for The Living Desert, College of the Desert, McCallum Theatre, Waring International Piano Competition, and other nonprofits in the desert communities.
National Philanthropy Day in the Desert, a signature event kicking off the season of philanthropy in the Coachella Valley, is made possible by more than 30 individuals and organizations who provide underwriting support. Gloria Greer passed away several weeks before the Awards Luncheon. Her twin daughters Ann and Norma accepted the Outstanding Nonprofit Founder award on her behalf following a moving video about Gloria's accomplishments.
